Accessibility

Dockex is compliance software for commercial fleets. The people who use it — owners, dispatchers, safety managers, drivers — shouldn't need perfect vision, a steady hand, or a mouse to get their filings done. We treat accessibility as part of building the product well, not a box we check at the end.

We're a small team and we're early. That means we can't promise the site is flawless today. It also means that when you tell us something is hard to use, a real person reads it and we can fix it fast. This page tells you what we're aiming for, what we've already built in, and where we know we still have work to do.

Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. It's the standard most accessibility law and best practice points to, and it's the bar we design and review against.

To be clear about the words: this is the goal we work toward, not a claim of full conformance. We haven't completed a formal third-party audit, and we don't claim the platform meets every success criterion in every place today. As we grow, we intend to test more rigorously — including with assistive technology and, eventually, an independent review — and to keep this page updated as that happens.

These are the practices already built into the marketing site and the Dockex platform:

• Semantic, structured HTML: Real headings, lists, landmarks, and buttons — so screen readers and other assistive tools can understand the page, not just render it.
• Keyboard navigation: You can move through links, forms, and controls with the Tab key and activate them without a mouse. Interactive elements are reachable in a sensible order.
• Color contrast: We choose text and background colors with legibility in mind, and we don't use color as the only way to signal something.
• Text alternatives: Images and icons that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative visuals are marked so screen readers skip them.
• Reduced motion: If your system asks for reduced motion, our animations back off instead of moving or looping in the background.
• Resizable, responsive layout: Pages reflow when you zoom or use a larger font, and work down to a phone-sized screen.
• Plain language: We write in plain English and explain the compliance jargon the industry throws around, so the words themselves are one fewer barrier.

We'd rather tell you the truth than post a badge. Some known gaps:

• We haven't run a complete audit of every screen with every screen reader and browser combination, so some rough edges almost certainly exist — especially in newer or more complex parts of the platform.
• A few data-dense views — tables, charts, and multi-step filing flows — are harder to use with assistive technology than we want them to be. These are on our list to improve.
• Some documents you upload or receive (PDFs, cab cards, government forms) come from third parties and may not be accessible themselves. We can't change the source file, but if one blocks you from something you need, contact us and we'll help you get the information another way.

None of this is a final list — it's where we are right now. We fix issues as we find them and as you report them, and we update this page as things change.

If any part of Dockex is hard to use — or impossible — with your setup, tell us. Please include the page or feature, what you were trying to do, and the browser, device, or assistive technology you were using. That detail helps us reproduce and fix the problem quickly.
